Four-Car Crash Injures Two Jefferson Residents

Accident occurred on Berkshire Valley Road near Route 15 off-ramp Sunday afternoon.

Two township women were taken to area hospitals Sunday afternoon after they were injured in a four-car accident on Berkshire Valley Road near the Route 15 off-ramp, Jefferson police said.

One woman, a 61-year-old Jefferson resident, suffered a minor head injury, and a 52-year-old Jefferson woman reported some neck pain, Jefferson Police Lt. Sean Conrad said.

Conrad said a vehicle that allegedly failed to yield at the end of the off-ramp contributed to the crash. Officers Chester Glazewski and William Carroll were the investigating officers.

The accident was reported at 12:57 p.m. One of the injured women was taken to St. Clare's Hospital in Dover and the other was taken to Morristown Medical Center by the Jefferson Township Rescue Squad.

The accident closed a portion of Route 15 for about one hour on Sunday afternoon.

There seems to be a lot of accidents on Berkshire Valley Road. Has anyone in Government done any homework to make this heavily traveled road safer ? It used to be a just curvey country road with few cars, Now its like a highway.I know first hand, I have a niece that had a very bad accident on a curvey section of that roadway and is still clinging to life as we speak.
