Cub Scouts from Pack 49, Den 6 know how to think of others at the holiday season. Even though the boys may be wondering what items from their lists Santa will bring, they took the time to collect food for Christmas baskets to go to needy families.
The baskets were made by the Milton United Methodist Church. The scouts, all first grade students at Cozy Lake School, were asked to bring canned goods to a scout meeting.
"We figured each boy would bring one or maybe two cans," said Shanna Peters, mother of one of the scouts. "But the boys went bananas, and brought in enough food to make many baskets. They all said they were very happy to be able to help people who didn't have as much as they do."
