Paving work is scheduled to begin next week on Edison Road from Espanong Road to Route 15, according to town officials.
Edison Road itself does not contain many residences; however, it is a main thoroughfare to Route 15 from Espanong Road, and is a main turning point to enter three different developments: The Peaks, Lakeview and Water Village.
Work on the project will be completed between approximately 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day, according to Jefferson Township business administrator James Leach. Police will be on hand to direct traffic as needed, and one lane will remain open at all times.
The paving project will start with milling out two inches of the roadway and then replacing it with two inches of new pavement. Temporary yellow lines will be painted on the road each night to aid drivers.
The project should take about two weeks to complete.

YEAH!!!! This has been long over due. Hopefully the new pavement will not get trashed from the quarry traffic with the Weldon/Route 15 Bridge being out.
