The lightning off the field couldn’t overshadow the lightning on the field Friday night, as the Jefferson High football team defeated Newton 36-7 on opening night of the 2012 football season.
The game was delayed by about 30 minutes because of lightning with 6:23 left in the third quarter. By then, the Falcons were ahead 22-7. They added to their lead after the game was restarted.
Senior receiver Danny Brown broke two tackles and ran back a punt for 65 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, after he caught a J.R. Reese pass in the first quarter for his first touchdown of the year.
Reese also rushed for two touchdowns.

Yes...nothing without Reese. Or without the blockers allowing him to run. Or the receivers catching his throws. Or the punt return guy. Or the defense that stopped the other team from scoring points. Good point.

How petty can people get?! Let's mock a high school football team... It is upsetting that a comment can not be made, great game team. Great effort team. Go team.
