Two Accidents, One Fatal, on Route 80 in Rockaway
Crashes occurred near exit 34, shutting down the highway in that area while scene was cleared.
A fatal accident occurred late Wednesday night on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile marker 34, state police said, followed closely by another serious accident that did not involve a fatality.
No information was released regarding the victim's name, age or residence, or the circumstances surrounding the accident, as the investigation is ongoing, state police said.
All lanes of I-80 East had been closed down East of Exit 34 while the crash was cleared and the scene was investigated.
