Isaac Expected to Impact NJ Through Wednesday

State police warn of flash floods as remnants of Hurricane Isaac are expected.

Hurricane Isaac may have mostly avoided New Jersey, but state police are warning that remnants of the storm are expected to impact the Garden State through Wednesday.

New Jersey State Police sent out a Nixle alert Tuesday afternoon warning residents about expected flash floods.

"Flash flood advisories, watches, warnings all over," the Nixle message said.

Police also warned residents to try to avoid standing water.

"Be alert for ponded water on the roadways, a frequent result of flash flooding. Do not try to drive or walk through standing water," police said.

The National Weather Service (NWS) warns of "hazardous weather," which could include heavy rainfall and flooding through at least Wednesday, but possibly until Monday.
