Jefferson Actress, 10, Films With 'Smash'
Chloe Scharf takes on her latest acting role with one of NBC's hit shows.
Jefferson's own Chloe Scharf recently took on her latest acting role, this time in NBC's hit show "Smash."
The Oak Ridge 10-year-old played a theater student auditioning in a workshop. In the scene, she acts out with several other kids, all who are making noise until the teacher tells them to listen up and sit in their seats.
Chloe's mother, Laura Scharf, said that Chloe had a great time filming, and loved it especially because she played an acting student, a role that she can very much relate to.
"It kind of worked out perfect for her," she said.
The episode will air on NBC during Season 2, Episode 7.
Although this was Chloe Scharf's first time with "Smash," she is not new to TV.
Chloe Scharf has filmed with six other TV shows, including "Boardwalk Empire" and "30 Rock."
She has also been in 22 films, including "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," and a number of theater productions and commericials.
Her latest movie role was in the newly completed film, "God's Favor." The producers of the film, which was originally called "Yorkshire Witchcraft," changed the title because parts of the plot changed.
The film, which takes place in the 1600s in Yorkshire, England, is set to be released in 2013, with the trailer coming out next month. Laura Scharf also worked on the film as a producer.
Chloe Scharf recently won the Best Actor Award at the Manhattan Film Festival in July, and met pop idol Taylor Swift in August. She even got to hang out with "Cake Boss" Buddy Valestro while filming a commercial for his new line of cakes.
While holding a a steady acting career, Laura Scharf said that her daughter, who started acting at the age of 5, is able to juggle school and acting very well while keeping up good grades. She said that "school comes first."
