Jefferson Crash Victim Recovery Moving Slowly
Andrea Fornelos is out of a coma, but family still unsure what she can and can't understand.
Five months after a East Hanover woman fell into a coma after a devastating car crash on Berkshire Valley Road in Jefferson, her family wonders if she even knows they are around, according to a report on nj.com.
Progress since Andrea Fornelos came out of that coma has been slow, her family says in the report, and medical costs continue to rise. Family members say they know the 21-year-old can hear them but are unsure if she’s able to understand the sounds.
Fornelos was issued two summonses after the crash while she lay in the hospital fighting for her life, as originally reported in October 2012 on Jefferson Patch. Fornelos was driving a Volkswagen Golf when it crossed the double yellow line and crashed into a pick-up truck.
According to nj.com, the investigation into the crash is complete, and no more charges are expected to be filed.

Prayers for her recovery. Accidents are just that. The focus should now be on her continued recovery.

Well said. And thoughts and/or prayers which ever you might believe are no accident. At least the news story will keep her and all those involved in our thoughts and prayers too.
