UPDATE: Jefferson Fared Storm With Minimal Damage

Some road closures, power outages reported.

JCP&L is reporting just over 5.000 without power as of Sunday afternoon at 3:15 p.m., according to its outage map

Other than those outages, however, Jefferson weathered the October snowstorm without too much damage, according to township police captain Eric Wilsusen.

The following roads were at issue on Sunday, Wilsusen said:

  • Weldon Road and Berkshire Valley Road are both down to one lane due to low hanging trees
  • Rt. 15 North and South at Berkshire Valley Road: intersection is closed because traffic lights are out
  • Berkshire Valley Road at Cayuga Road, Pioneer Road and Dover Milton Road are closed due to down trees and power lines across the road.

Still no power in areas surrounding Casa Bianca on BV Rd. Is there any designated shelter in JT where one can warm up & take a shower?
