Joseph Kraemer, currently the assistant superintendent of Jefferson Township’s schools, was appointed to the superintendent position on Thursday night. Kraemer will assume the position on April 1, the retirement date of current superintendent Dr. Kathaleen Fuchs.
“I want to thank the board for this opportunity to serve the community and students of Jefferson,” Kraemer said. “It’s a challenge I’m looking forward to.”
Kraemer has been with the district for six years as assistant superintendent. He was acting superintendent for six months before Fuchs came on board.
Fuchs, who has been with the district for just about six years, announced her retirement in late December. Her original retirement date was July 1, but in January, she announced her intention to leave on April 1.

Whew! That was a long and broad search! Congrats to Mr. Kraemer. Now lets hope the Board of Ed realizes Jefferson does not need an assistant superintendent!

The Board of Ed actually paid $10,000.00 to the professional search company for this "decision"? Who knows who in this move?
