Men Stole 50 Car Batteries at Sar's, Cops Say
Four Plainfield men were arrested early Wednesday morning on burglary and theft charges, police report.
Four Plainfield men were arrested Tuesday night after Jefferson police found stolen car batteries in their vehicle, Capt. Eric Wilsusen said.
Just before midnight the police department received a report of a suspicious vehicle leaving Sar's Auto Wreckers on Schoolhouse Road, Wilsusen said. With details of the vehicle's description and license plate number, patrol was able to locate the car on Berkshire Valley Road a short time later, Wilsusen said.
During an investigation it was revealed the car's four passengers allegedly stole approximately 50 car batteries and four aluminum rims from Sar's, Wilsusen said.
Jose Rodriguez, 36; Abismael Perez, 22; Oscar Nataren, 24; and Leonel Rodriquez, 22, were all charged with burglary, theft, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools.
All were taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail.
