A sunny Saturday afternoon was the perfect time to explore gardens throughout the township. The 2012 Gardens of Jefferson tour featured seven gardens.

The first one pictured here is the Baker house. The garden includes Katsura, variegated Ginko, Flamingo Maple, Japanese White Pine and Red Feathered Maple trees.

The second garden is the DeYoung home. It features a “G” scale working train, along with miniature plantings and Bonsai style trees.

The proceeds from Saturday’s event will go to the maintenance of “Miss Elizabeth’s Garden” at the Jefferon Township Historical Museum.
