Jefferson Day
When/Where: Saturday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. at the Jefferson Township High School football field
Why Go: Because you want to see a parade, shop at a variety of vendors, play some games, hear some great music and see an awesome display of fireworks.
Cost: Free for activities during the day, $2/adult and $1/child after 5:30 p.m. for band and fireworks.
St. Margaret of Scotland Summer Carnival
When/Where: Friday, 6 p.m. (and all weekend) at St. Margaret of Scotland, Morristown
Why Go: You're looking for some family fun in the great outdoors.

Antique Gardens & Landscapes
When/Where: Saturday, 10 a.m. from the Morris Tourism Bureau, Morristown
Why Go: You love learning a little about Morristown's rich history.

When/Where: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Urban Farm at Lafayette, Morristown

20th Annual George Gramby Day
When/Where: Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. at Abbett Avenue Playground, Morristown

Plein Aire Painting
When/Where: 9 a.m. Saturday, Chatham New Jersey Transit Station, Fairmount Ave & Railroad Plz, Chatham, NJ
Why go: Bring your easel and paints and enjoy a day of painting with your fellow local artists at Chatham's Reasoner Park

ShopRite Free Kids Day
When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, ShopRite, Shunpike Rd & Southern Blvd, Chatham
Why go: Bring your kids to learn about proper hydration from the in-store registered dietician. Hydration samples and activities for ids of all ages included

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
Where/When: Show time at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 12, 13 and 14; and also 19, 20 and 21, at the outdoor amphitheater at Pleasant Valley Park, off Valley Road in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: Because you can see some of the best local theater around in a beautiful setting, as performed by what's become the well-known Trilogy Repertory Co. Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.

Western and English Rides at Lord Stirling Stable
Where/When: Sunday, July 15, at 10 a.m. for Western-style ride and English-style equestrian introductory lesson at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, at Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: Because you haven't ridden yet, and you'd like to try; or you haven't ridden for a while, and you want a refresher; or because you live in horse country so you figure, just join 'em.
