Wednesday was National Walk to School Day, and students at Jefferson Township’s White Rock School celebrated in style.

Representatives from Northern New Jersey Safe Kids and the Jefferson Township Police Department, along with the local station of national sponsor Federal Express, were on hand to teach children how to safely navigate crosswalks.

“We have about 50 walkers in our community, so this is an excellent program to teach them how to be safe,” said White Rock secretary Linda Curcio.
