Who can eat a watermelon wedge the fastest? That would be Gerry Barone, and he proved it during the watermelon eating contest at Jefferson Day.
The kicker in this contest? Participants could not use their hands to hold onto the wedge.
The watermelons for the contest were donated by the A&P in Oak Ridge.

The Food Competition was great fun and success for everyone! Thanks to the generous donations from the Oak Ridge, A&P for the watermelons and Sparta Stop and Shop for the hot dogs, Wonderbread donation from the Tompkins family. Of course it wouldn't have been made possible without the hard working support from Monika Chrzanowski, Josy Samite-Estevez, and MaryAnn Castelano-Tompkins!!! Thank you again to everyone!!
