Mrs. Koontz -Middle School history teacher and so much more to this town and it's students. She's the teacher that goes above and beyond - she's every where you go, monitoring high school games, running camp jefferson in the summer and she knows all her past and present students because she goe above and beyond and truly cares.

This is easy.Ron Smith, the new president of our board of education. More than anyone he has brought a sense of organization and calm to our schools. He provides common sense for the spending of our tax dollars.

Chris Pierson, suffered a spinal cord injury april 2012 and prognosis was bad, but because of his faith and dedication, and determination he is able to walk with the use of just a cane 8 months later

Ray Fernandez of bridge Marina, Ray after single handedly reinventing his dad’s (Joe) marina into a professionally run, first in the state clean fresh water marina. Ray has also inserted himself in the overseeing and concerns related to the Lake Hopatcong Commission an organization established to insure the best interests of Lake Hopatcong and its community… Vote Ray Fernandez

There is a man who played piano at the town set up shelter based at the senior center throughout the entire storm recovery in November. I understands he also plays at the coffee shop in the strip center next to TJ's Gulf. He played piano for days and even shared music trivia with everyone. He was happy and brought smiles to faces of residents who were without power and water for over two weeks. He had such a contagious attitude....if everyone in Jefferson were like him...no one would ever stop smiling.

How about Rich Tuttle and the entire water department for making sure all of Jefferson had clean, fresh water at all times during Super Storm Sandy even when the power was out.

I nominate Harold Liberatore, he was State Commander for the American Legion and dedicated the entire year to helping veterans and raised over $100k for a Reflective Garden at Lyons VA hospital for soldiers with mental illness such as PTSD. He volunteered all his time for the entire year to the position, traveling all over the state and country for his duties which included things like helping to furnish a home for homeless veterans and much, much more.
He worked so hard that on the last week of his term he suffered a heart attack and his heart stopped and was in a coma for over a week and not expected to recover, but he has made a miraculous full recovery. Even while recovering he also help run a county golf tournament which raised money for the ARC of Morris County a program dear to his heart since he raised and cares for a handicap son. He has run this volunteer golf tournament for the Morris County Legion for over 20 years in a row, which he started when he was Morris County Commander for the American Legion in 1990.
He was honored for his work by the Governor, Congressman Frelinghuysen, the Mayor and City Council.

Mayor Russ Felter gets my vote too. I spoke o a lot of folks from other towns who's Mayors fled the state and or disappeared during and after Sandy. Mayor Felter showed strong leadership and compassion for his fellow Jeffersonians before and after the storm.
