"FootLoose"
When/Where: At 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Bernards Township Pleasant Valley Park in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: It's a musical about teen rebellion and repression featuring spontaneous dance performed by the local talents of the Ridge Light Opera. Gotta get loose ... Footloose.
Pricing: Free. Donations are gratefully accepted. 

Director’s Book Club: Still Alice
Where/When: At 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Morristown and Morris Township Library.
Why Go: Because neuroscientist and debut novelist Lisa Genova shares years of experience in her field by crafting a realistic portrait of early onset Alzheimer's disease in her book.
Pricing: Free.

Poetry Reading 
Where/When: At 10 a.m. on Thursday at the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morris Township.
Why Go: Because several poets will read their water-themed works as part of cultural program coinciding with the college’s current art exhibition, "Water, Water, Anywhere."
Pricing: Free.

The Mothers’ Club
Where/When: From 10:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday at Postpartum Place in Chatham.
Why Go: Mothers and their babies can come to this fun, social time and receive expert advice in a safe and supportive environment.  
Pricing: Free.

Make a Decorative Fan
Where/When: From 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Madison Public Library.
Why Go: Because you can create a beautiful Asian-inspired fan for those hot summer days.
Pricing: $5.

Spanish Language Storytime
Where/When: From 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Madison Public Library.
Why Go: Because simple stories, songs and finger plays for kids ages 6 and up, will be the focus of the program.
Pricing: Free.

Zumba Fitness Class
Where/When: From 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Butler VFW, 69 Carey Avenue in Butler.
Why Go: Because you’d like to enjoy this Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning, dance fitness class.
Pricing: $10.

Events and Crafts
Where/When: At 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Butler Public Library.
Why Go: Children ages 3 to 6 can come enjoy stories and have fun making crafts to take home.
Pricing: Free.

Yoga
Where/When: At 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Montville Township Public Library.
Why Go: To practice your poses at these free bi-weekly yoga sessions. Don’t forget to dress comfortably.
Pricing: Free.

Tai Chi
Where/When: At 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Montville Township Public Library.
Why Go: To learn the art of Tai Chi with instructor Gary Carbone.
Pricing: $48 for eight sessions or $10 per class at the door.

Senior Bingo
Where/When: From 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Parsippany Community Center.
Why Go: Because Parsippany adults ages 55 and older can enjoy an afternoon of bingo at the senior center.
Pricing: Free.

Karaoke
Where/When: From 9 to 11 p.m. on Thursday at Lakeside Grill Restaurant and Bar in Hopatcong.
Why Go: Because it’s karaoke. What else do you need to know?
Pricing: Free.

Senior Yoga Classes 
Where/When: From 11 to 12:45 a.m. on Thursday at the Washington Township Senior Citizen Center in Long Valley.
Why Go: Because the center will be offering two types of yoga classes including “chair” yoga and “gentle” yoga, directed by instructor Charlene Gattuso.
Pricing: $10 per class, or $37 for six classes.

'Wine Down' at David Todd's City Tavern
Where/When: From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at David Todd's City Tavern, 150 South St, Morristown.
Why Go: To enjoy a night of specially priced wines, beers and cocktails while you do some networking, or just kick off your weekend with a relaxing night.
Pricing: Bring your wallet.

Mr. Ray Kids & Family Music Concert
When/Where: From 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Warren Township Municipal Complex in Warren.
Why Go: To see and hear in your own town what Mr. Ray has performed on Blue's Clues, XM Kids & Radio Disney. It's a rocking show that's family friendly with seating next to your own neighbor. 
Pricing: Free.

Summer Science
When/Where: At 3 p.m. on Thursday at the Hillsborough Public Library in Hillsborough.
Why Go: For students in grades three to five will explore science with a "Flight" theme. Interactive hands-on activities will have kids learning and having fun with library friends.
Pricing: Free.

Create a Summer Camp Bag
When/Where: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Down Cellar in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: To learn how to sew your own drawstring bag. It's a great craft for the beach or pool.
Pricing: $30.

Parachute Play
Where/When: From 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the Madison Public Library.
Why Go: Because kids can have fun on Friday moving, playing and singing around a giant rainbow colored parachute.
Pricing: Free. 

Friday Afternoon Programs for Adults
Where/When: At 1 p.m. on Friday at the Montville Township Public Library.
Why Go: Because adults need some time to relax too, and this is the perfect spot for fantastic concerts and performances, holiday crafts and informational seminars.
Pricing: Free.

Kip & Mr. Microphone 
Where/When: From 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday KaBob's at the Northwood Inn.
Why Go: Because you can bring the whole family by and belt out some tunes with Kip.
Pricing: Free.

Mahjong at the Senior Center
Where/When: At 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Washington Township Senior Citizen Center in Long Valley.
Why Go: You’re interested in starting your weekend by enjoying a morning of Mahjong.
Pricing: Free.

Picture Bingo for All Ages 
Where/When: From 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Free Public Library.
Why Go: Because you can spend some time this weekend playing bingo with the family.
Pricing: Free.

Family Yoga
Where/When: From 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Jefferson Township Public Library.
Why Go: Because families can enjoy the benefits of yoga by learning a variety of classic poses, presented by Michelle Magnotti of Yoga Flows Inc.
Pricing: Free. 

Big Jeff Beach Concert
Where/When: From 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Drewes Beach on the corner of Lake Shore Drive and Dorothy Road in Parsippany.
Why Go: Because you’re interested in enjoying children’s singer and songwriter, Big Jeff.
Pricing: $5 per family.

Teen Summer PJ Party
When/Where: From 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday at the Bridgewater Township Library in Bridgewater.
Why Go: For teens in grades seven to 11 to enjoy movies, Wii, cookies, crafts, and a scavenger hunt ... all in the comfort of "jammies" and friends.
Pricing: Free.

"Gulliver's Travels" Drive-In Movie
When/Where: At 8:30 p.m. on Friday at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater.
Why Go: To pack up the car, grab some popcorn and take the family back to the 50's with an old fashion drive-in movie. 
Pricing: Free.

"Under the Greenwood Tree" 
When/Where: From 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Bernards Township Library in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: To join in a summer book and film discussion complete with costumes, actors and a viewing of Under the Greenwood Tree. It's a tale of rural romance filmed entirely on the picturesque Channel Island of New Jersey. Read the book, watch the film ... perfect together.
Pricing: Free. Registration is not required.

Open House at Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve
When/Where: From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve in Bedminster.
Why Go: Because it's a chance to venture out for a walk through the meadows and woods of this former dairy farm. Check out what's new and enjoy the blooms in the Bird and Butterfly Garden.
Pricing: Free. Registration is not required.

The Fuzzbox Teen Center
Where/When: From 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at 214 West Mill Rd. in Long Valley.
Why Go: Because The Fuzzbox is a place for students in grades seven through 12 can hang out in a fun, supervised atmosphere where they can go to be involved in sports, games, music, art, and more, while being provided with free food and drinks. Fridays are for high school students and Saturdays are for middle school students.
Pricing: Free.

Morris Plains Farmers Market
Where/When: From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at The Merchant Block of Morris Plains.
Why Go: You can pick up some homemade mozzarella and ravioli, freshly baked bread and some of New Jersey's best cheesecakes.
Pricing: Bring your wallet.

Chatham Borough Farmers Market 
Where/When: From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Railroad Plaza and Fairmont Avenue in Chatham.
Why Go: To get some of the best Jersey Fresh produce, Jersey Shore seafood, pasture-raised meat, poultry and eggs, honey, baked goods, fresh mozzarella, specialty prepared foods of all kinds, and more. The market will also have cooking demonstrations.
Pricing: Bring your wallet.

Family Storytime 
Where/When: At 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Washington Township Free Public Library in Long Valley.
Why Go: Because you can spend your mid-morning Saturday with the family at the public library enjoying a fun story-time.
Pricing: Free.

Family Movie at the Library
Where/When: At 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Washington Township Free Public Library in Long Valley.
Why Go: What better way to spend your Saturday than enjoying a movie with your family? Snacks will be available.
Pricing: Free.

Gardens of Jefferson Tour
Where/When: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Jefferson Township Historical Museum.
Why Go: Because private homeowners will share the beauty of their own gardens, featuring an expansive vegetable garden, an exotic Asian style rock garden, three beautifully landscaped lakeside gardens and more.
Pricing: $12.

Beatlemania Again 
Where/When: From 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday at the Camp Jefferson Amphitheatre, 81 Weldon Rd, Lake Hopatcong.
Why Go: Because enjoying a Beatles cover band sounds like a ton of fun for your Saturday night.
Pricing: Free.

Lexus Open Tennis Tournament 
Where/When: From 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday at the Center Court Tennis, 222 N. Passaic Ave, Chatham.
Why Go: Because this years competition includes a few players rated in the ATP’s top 200.
Pricing: Free.

Sherlock Holmes Murder Mystery Dinner Show
Where/When: From 6 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday at St. Jude's Parish in Hopatcong.
Why Go: Because it’s a fun filled evening of murder, mystery and macabre, which includes a full buffet dinner, beer, wine, soda and dessert. 21 and older only.
Pricing: $35.

Honey Harvest Days
When/Where: From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Wagner Farm Arboretum in Warren.
Why Go: To see what's buzzzing around the arboretum and to watch and taste local honey being harvested.
Pricing: Free.

Comedy Night
When/Where: At 9 p.m. on Saturday at Maestro206 in Hillsborough.
Why Go: To leave the stress of the work week behind you while laughing out loud with local comics competing for cash prizes.
Pricing: $10 cover. Two item minimum. 

Sourland Music Festival
When/Where: From 4 to 11 p.m. pm Saturday at the Hillsborough Golf & Country Club in Hillsborough.
Why Go: It's a family-friendly feast of roots rock, blues, jazz, acoustic, and bluegrass jams. Performances will have you dancing from the summer sunset to the moonrise.
Pricing: $20 per adult. $5 per child. Children under 6 are admitted free. 

Garden Party
When/Where: From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday in Colonial Park in Somerset.
Why Go: To attend a gardening lecture, shop for unusual specialty plants, and enjoy live classical music performed by the New Jersey Youth Symphony.
Pricing: Free.

Morning With a Naturalist
When/Where: At 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Environmental Education Center at Lord Stirling Park in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: For children ages 4 to 6 to enjoy the adventure of a hike, games, stories, and crafts all under the instruction of a Naturalist.
Pricing: $20. Registration required.

Create Mexican Sombreros
When/Where: From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Warren Township Library in Warren.
Why Go: To drop in between the listed times and create your own Mexican sombrero. 
Pricing: Free.

Teen Crafternoon Tie Dye 
When/Where: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Hillsborough Public Library in Hillsborough.
Why Go: To create multi-colored creations limited only by your own imagination. 
Pricing: Free. Registration required. 

Garden State Cat Show and Expo
When/Where: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset.
Why Go: Because it's the largest annual cat show in the Northeast. Cat lovers will find seminars, demonstrations and activities to appease the most finicky felines.  
Pricing: $10 admission. $7 seniors.

True Accounts of WWII
Where/When: At 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Jefferson Township Public Library.
Why Go: Because two professional actors will read the words of true accounts from those who served during, and lived through World War II. Also, a cabaret singer adds atmosphere by singing songs from the era.
Pricing: Free.

Christmas in July            
Where/When: From 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum in Morristown.
Why Go: Because you love Christmas and this will give you a chance to check out over thirty holiday images by Thomas Nast.
Pricing: Free.

F-Stop Photography Exhibit
Where/When: All day on Sunday at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township.
Why Go: Because this is the arboretum’s first annual high school photography contest. Come see pictures focused on nature, judged by professional photographers and come to the Artist's Reception on July 10 to meet the young artists and hear them speak about their work.
Pricing: Free.

Harold Melvin's Blue Notes Concert
When/Where: From 7 to 8:30 p.m on Sunday at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater.
Why Go: Because the summer concert series continues with The Blue Notes. You can sing along to "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and other platinum and gold hits of the group.
Pricing: Free.

Kids in the Kitchen Summer Picnics
When/Where: From 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday at Wegmans in Bridgewater.
Why Go: It's a hands-on cooking class just for kids ages four and up. Learn to make picnic favorites of pulled-pork sliders and corn and radish salad.
Pricing: $5 per child and parent with Shopper Plus Card, $10 without card.
