Saint Clare’s Health System will offer three-part series on pre-diabetes and diabetes risk taught by a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). The program seeks to help those affected make the proper lifestyle changes prior to a diabetes diagnosis.
A variety of diabetes topics will be covered, including:Practical nutrition guidelines
- Weight loss tips
- Healthier lifestyle suggestions
- Food demonstrations
- Menu ideas and recipes
- Exercise options and goals
- Updates on some of the latest research in wellness
Consider attending if you:
…want to eat healthier.
…want to have a healthier lifestyle.
…have a history of gestational diabetes.
…have family history of diabetes or heart disease.
…have a high BMI or are you overweight.
…have high cholesterol, high LDL, low HDL, or high triglyceride (fat) levels.
…have a fasting blood sugar of over 100 to 125 or HbA1c of 5.7 to 6.4.
…have prediabetes.
The programs will be held on Wednesdays September 12, September 19, and October 10, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

In addition, it can reduce stress and improve poor circulation,which is a common by-product of diabetes. Walking is one of the best ways to exercise and can be done by virtually anyone of any health level. However, walking outdoors isn't always convenient or possible, so a treadmill may be the answer. Thanks a lot.
