American Legion Post 423 To Host Memorial Day Services

A donated tree will be planted, replacing one destroyed by lightning, in dedicated to those who served in the Armed Forces.

American Legion Post 423 is hosting an afternoon of remembrance and honor for neighborhood veterans and those who have died.

Memorial Day services will take place Monday, May 26 at noon the Post on Legion Road in front of the monuments facing the road with Commander Lakhicharran leading the service.

Lieutenant Colonel Brian J. Gruchacz from Picatinny Arsenal will be the guest speaker.

Following the speakers, a tree donated by Michael Mele and Lorraine Rosan is to be planted to replace a 50-year-old tree that was destroyed by lightning years ago in dedication to all those who served in the military.

Services featuring the firing squad and color guard will also take place prior to this even at cemeteries across the county, including: Milton, Oak Ridge, St. Thomas and Holland Mountain.

Complementary refreshments will be available following the service.
