Fishy Fun: 85 Anglers Compete in Lake Hopatcong Ice-Fishing Contest (24 Photos!)
Knee Deep Club doles out $1,360 in prize money.
Warmth, an ice fisherman's enemy, rolled through the borough late last week, melting much of the snow and ice on Lake Hopatcong.
But it didn't stop 85 anglers from participating in Sunday's ice-fishing contest, which raised $320 for the Knee Deep Club's stocking fund. The first-, second- and third-place winners in three divisions split $1,360 in prize money.
Chris Czyz of Garfield and Roman Pera of Wallington each landed first- and third-place prizes.
