Gentlemen (and Women) Start Your Engines

Power Wheels races come to Jefferson Township.

You're never to young to feel the need for speed. The toddler to tween set is no exception. Knowing this, the Jefferson Recreation Department set up the Power Wheels Race Series.

The series started earlier in the spring, with four races each with three separate tracks set up between the Jefferson Township High School at 1010 Weldon Road and the Jefferson Township Middle School in parking lot B (under the bridge).

The series is open to children ages 2 to 8 years old. Eligible participants race their own “power wheels” type vehicle (a battery- powered vehicle that children drive) around three different tracks that are set up just for them.  Each racer will compete against others for the best race time. Medals will be awarded to the top racers at the Jefferson Grand Prix on June 2.

Participants must wear a bicycle helmet, provide their own power wheels vehicle, and parents must be able to transport the vehicle to and from the racing site.
