Relax, Rejuvenate, & Celebrate a Belated Halloween!

This week has beaten the stuffing out of everyone, it's time to relax.

Well it's Friday, the end of a long and dare I say frightening week -- thanks to the pre-Halloween storm that none of us will soon forget.

Hopefully most everyone will have their power back today, and if you do, it's certainly time to celebrate -- by relaxing, treating yourself to some pampering, and celebrating Halloween if you didn't have time to earlier this week because you were sitting in the dark.

Here are a few things you might want to consider for today:

1. Treat yourself to a hot bath with Lavender or Eucalyptus scented Epsom salt and deck your bathroom with candles and flowers. You should have a few candles left over from one of our recent power outages. Sink into the delightful hot water and be grateful for this simple pleasure that we often take for granted. Imagine, spring is only five months away!

2. If you've really had a difficult week and want to take your relaxation a step further, treat yourself to a massage. You may want to check out the Morris County Health & Wellness Center located in Budd Lake, NJ.

3. Throw an inpromptu belated Halloween party tonight. Tell all your friends to show up as their version of a 'Power Outage' -- what would it look like if a power outage were a person? Or ask your guests to show up as someone who lived back in time -- since we all got a lot of practice this past week.

4. Rake the leaves and pick up the branches in your yard or help someone in the neighborhood who could use your help. As you work, do it consciously and with reverence for nature -- realizing that everything that lives must die, and everything must die, in order to be reborn. Instead of getting angry or sad about what was lost in the storm, we might look at it as Mother Nature's way of clearing away the old and making room for new growth.

5. Take some time to meditate or visit your local church or synagogue or favorite park and ponder all that we have in this very abundant part of the world. We may have had to endure a very difficult week, but for some people around the globe, hardship is all they know. We now have an opportunity to be more appreciative for all the comforts and amenities that we are afforded at this time in history.
