Audition for a Play, Groove to a Rock Concert, Lose a Few Pounds This Week

Here's what's up in Jefferson this week:

• The Jefferson Township Board of Adjustment will be meeting on Monday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Town Hall.

• The Jefferson Community Players are offering an acting workshop starting on Feb. 2 in the Jefferson Senior Center. Preregistration is required since class size is limited. To register and for more info, email jcplayers@optonline.net or call 973-663-3340.                            

• Premier Designs Independent Distributors of Jefferson is holding the Have a Heart where they will donate their commissions to raise money for Jefferson's homeless pets. The event takes place on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. at the Jefferson Health Center on Minnisink Road. Donations of blankets, towels, can cat food, kitty litter, and cleaning supplies are also welcome.

• The Jefferson Community Players will hold open casting for their 2014 theatrical season on Feb. 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. and Jan. 27 and Feb. 3 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Auditions will be held at the Jefferson Senior Center at 54 Schoolhouse Road. To reserve a time slot for casting, email jcplayers@optonline.net or call 973-663-3340.

• Jeff. Arts Commission will hold their Community Band Rehearsal on Monday, Jan. 27, at 6:30 p.m. The rehearsal will be at Jefferson Township High School's band room.

• The White Rock School PTA will be holding a meeting to discuss fifth grade farewell plans. The meeting will be on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 7 p.m. at the school's media center.

• Jefferson Township High School will be having a rock concert on Friday, Jan. 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the school's auditorium.

• The Library Knitting Circle will meet on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at the Jefferson Township Public Library on Weldon Road. Registration is not necessary to attend the group meetings.

• The Jefferson Library children's group, Rainbow Loom With Friends, meets on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 4 p.m. Children are encouraged to bring their own loom and supplies and share ideas with others.

• Curves on 5 Bowling Green Parkway has a variety of weight loss activities this week. New members are invited to join for a week for free. Go to this link for more info.
