Wrobo Run Coming on Sunday

This year's proceeds will go to Jefferson's Challenger League.

The following comes from the Jefferson Township Junior Women's Club, sponsors of the Wrobo Run:

The Wrobo Run is named in honor of 2nd Lt. John Thomas (JT) Wroblewski, who died on April 6, 2004 from injuries suffered serving as a marine in Iraq. This year’s race will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7, and, as usual, it will begin at the Jefferson Township Municipal Complex and wind its way along a circular, scenic route in Jefferson. The run generally draws hundreds of participants and many business sponsors.

This year's proceeds will be donated to the Challenger League, an organization which provides an opportunity for special needs youth to have a league of their own, offering sports and other gym activities. This program is free of charge to the families, with all funds being raised through fund raising efforts.

There will be prizes awarded in several categories, and refreshments served at the town gazebo after the race. This will be a regulation 5K course (#NJ09505JHP), but both experienced and non-experienced runners are invited to participate. Even walking the course is encouraged. Commemorative t-shirts will be given to all runners while supplies last. The entry fee for pre-registration is $25; it rises to $30 the day of the event.
