Jefferson Township Historical Society Membership Meeting

The Jefferson Township Historical Society will hold a general membership meeting on Thursday, March 1st (snow date March 8th) at Camp Jefferson, Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong, at 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the organization is encouraged to attend this meeting.  There will be a presentation following the general membership meeting by Katherine D. Bowers, aka “Kitty” who will talk about her adventures as a balloon handler since 2003 at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The purpose of the Jefferson Township Historical Society is the maintenance of the George Chamberlain House, also known as the Jefferson Township Museum, as a historic site for this and future generations.  The Jefferson Township Museum was entered into the National and State Register of Historic places in May 2010.
