Overturned Cement Truck Snarls Route 15 Traffic

Single-vehicle crash backs up traffic from New Orleans Steakhouse for a mile south.

An overturned cement truck at the intersection of Route 15 and Berkshire Valley Road took out a southbound travel lane shortly after 12:30 p.m. Monday.

The driver of the Service Concrete truck, based in Oak Ridge, was able to climb free of the wreck.

Operating the vehicle was Jacky Insinga, 58, of Andover, according to Jefferson Township Police Capt. Eric Wilsusen. Insinga was traveling on Berkshire Valley Road and attempted to make a left onto Route 15 South when the truck — carrying a full load of concrete — overturned.

Insinga was taken to St. Clare's Hospital by ambulance for minor injuries, Wilsusen said.

Traffic on Route 15 was affected for about two hours, Wilsusen said.
