Get Ready to Tour Camp Jefferson

Less than a month until the first open house of the season.

Whether you are looking to see some of your old favorites, or sneak a peek at the new climbing tower, residents can tour Jefferson Township’s 96-acre facility at Camp Jefferson in a few weeks.

On Sunday, March 10 and Sunday, March 24  folks can see learn firsthand what is available for the Recreation Department's 10th annual summer day camp program. 

Those interested are encouraged to drop in anytime between 1 and 4 p.m. on either date to tour the Camp Jefferson facilities. Visit the spring-fed lake where boating and fishing take place, the outdoor sports facilities, open grass fields, amphitheater, fire pit with seating, numerous cabins that will be assigned themes during the Camp season, the main Community Lodge with a full kitchen, the Recreation Hall, basketball courts, movie theater, picnic pavilion, high and low ropes courses, the archery range, and a state-of-the-art playground.   Summer Camp offers ping-pong, foose ball, pool, air hockey, tetherball, croquet, shuffleboard, trail walks, hopscotch, horseshoes, bocce ball, and so much more.

Visitors will also be able to check out construction on the new 40” rock wall scheduled to be completed by the first day of camp.

Camp Jefferson’s staff members will be on hand to answer questions and summer day camp brochures and registration forms available. 

Private tours can be arranged at other times by appointment only based on the availability of the Summer Day Camp Directors by calling 973-663-8404.

The 2013 Jefferson Township Recreation Department’s summer day camp program at Camp Jefferson will run from June 24 through Aug. 23 for a total of nine weeks. Early bird registration price specials will be offered until April 10.
