Jefferson Arts Committee says "Thank You"

               On behalf of the Jefferson Arts Committee, we would like to thank everyone involved in the day and evening events of the 27th annual celebration of Jefferson Township Day on July 13.  Special thanks to Mayor Russ Felter, Administrator Jim Leach, Police Chief Kevin Craig, CFO Bill Eagen, OEM Coordinator Ed Mangold, the Jefferson Township Council, the Board of Education, the Jefferson Township Police Department, the Jefferson Township Recreation Department, the Jefferson Township Health Department, the Jefferson Township Fire Bureau, the Department of Public Works, the Morris County Park Commission, and the Morris County Sheriff’s office for all their assistance.

                We would especially like to thank the members of the Jefferson Arts Committee for their hard work in planning this event over the past year including securing all the necessary permits, scheduling the live entertainment, bringing the Arts Karts Race idea to fruition, setting up the Children’s Games of Skill, organizing the Hot Dog Eating Contest, leading the Irish Road Bowling Contest,  arranging the schedule for the Young Rockers, setting up the 50/50 Raffle, taking care of advertising and publicity, ordering tents and port-a-johns, registering the Food Vendors as well as the Arts/Crafts/Merchandise Vendors and all the Service and Business Vendors. 

                Our thanks to the volunteer members of the Knights of Columbus Council 5510, a great group of  residents of the Fairways at Bowling Green, and the JTHS Falcon football players who helped with the Arts Karts Derby Race.  Thank you also to the contributors to the Arts Karts Race – Home Depot Dover, Jefferson Lumber, TrueValue of Lakeside, Berkshire Self-Storage, and Rolf Warneke and his Jefferson Township High School Woodshop students.  Thank you to the F.S. Burroughs/North Jersey Trout Unlimited Group for hosting the Children’s Fishing Contest.

                Thank you to the volunteers who helped with the children’s games and the hot dog eating contest as well as the individuals who were hall monitors, the several people and children who stayed after the fireworks to help clean up the field, and the one gentleman who helped clean up the garbage on the fields, etc. the day after.

                Thank you to Bruce Sibel for conducting the Pit Stop Challenge and bringing the NASCAR Budweiser Race Car to the event, the Milton A&P for donating the hot dogs and rolls for the food competition, the Young Rocker Bands for their performances, Giant Gymnastics of Sparta, Panasonic and Tesla Motors for displaying the Tesla Model S vehicle, Diane’s Dance Academy, and the Jefferson Township Community Concert and Jazz Bands,

                Thank you to Interstate Fireworks Company for yet another fantastic aerial fireworks show, Carnaby St. for a great concert under the stars, and Moonwalk Entertainment for the inflatable rides.  Thanks to the Rise Above BMX Team for their stunt bike show, Jason Tate’s Ready to Roll Sound Company, event electrician Bob Brown, Rizzo’s Reptiles, Juggler Bill Ceddia, Jinx the Clown, and George Esparza’s Phydeaux’s Flying Flea Circus.
