Excessive Heat Warning For Thursday-Saturday

National Weather Service issues warning for Thursday through Saturday; expects heat indexes up to 110 degrees.

The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning for the area starting noon Thursday and ending 8 p.m. Saturday.

NWS said the heat index, or how hot it feels, could bounce around 100 and 110 degrees during that period. The service also said it expects the weather to be the hottest on Friday afternoon.

"The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a dangerous situation in which heat illness are likely," NWS said.
