Five Things You Missed at Monday's School Board Meeting

If you couldn't make it, check out what you missed here.

Didn’t make Monday night’s meeting? Not to worry, Patch was there, and we have all the news for you, including a resignation on the board, some new staff members and a new information system. Here are five things you missed from the meeting:

  1. Resignation: The board accepted the resignation of member Nick Anzano, who left his post due to career commitments. The board has 65 days to fill the seat, and is accepting letters of interest for the position.
  2. New Administrators and Supervisors: They include Eileen Daggett as director of special services, Vicki Nadler as vice principal at the high school, Kathleen Cutrona as vice principal at the middle school, and Kara Russo as supervisor of special education.
  3. New Information System: Realtime is being implemented as the district’s information system district-wide. The system includes a parent portal that will allow parents to get progress reports on their children. More information will be given at each school’s back-to-school night.
  4. New Policy: The district implemented a new policy on harassment, intimidation and bullying, which superintendent Dr. Kathaleen Fuchs said is very specific, and reads more like a mandate than a policy. Look for a story on this issue soon.
  5. New Wireless: The district accepted a bid from Turnkey Technology for wireless access in the elementary schools, which will complete wireless internet access for the entire district, according to board member Frank Cuccio.
