Lake Hopatcong Buses May Be Delayed Due to Edison Rd. Repaving

Peaks residents will have an alternate exit from the development.

Milling and repaving is scheduled to begin on Friday on Edison Road, according to township officials, and school buses to Lake Hopatcong may be delayed because of it, according to school officials. The work should take two days to complete, and is scheduled for completion on Monday.

Work on the project will be completed between approximately 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day, according to Jefferson Township business administrator James Leach. Police will be on hand to direct traffic as needed, and one lane will remain open at all times.

A Honeywell Instant Alert message from the township to residents of the Peaks development let them know that the exit at the back of the development from Rock Ridge Road onto Mase Road will be open during the repaving project. Under normal circumstances, the only way Peaks residents can leave the development is via Skyline Drive onto Edison Road, and the back entrance is gated off and only open for emergency vehicle use. The back entrance will only be open for the two days of construction, and then will be closed again.
