When voluntary random drug testing was approved for Jefferson Township High School students in July, the district wasn’t clear on how the program would be funded. That problem has been solved now that the district has received $102,650 in funding through Title I, part of No Child Left Behind (NCLB).

Domestic Violence Victims Have Help in Jefferson

When a domestic violence incident occurs, the victim needs all the help he or she can get. That’s where Jefferson Township’s Crisis Response Team (CRT) comes in. The team, currently consisting of seven members, helps the Jefferson Township police when domestic violence victims are brought to headquarters, particularly after regular business hours.

Two Jefferson Township police officers sustained minor injuries when they responded to a report of a 17-year-old male who was harassing customers and refused to leave the 7-Eleven/BP Station on Route 15 on Saturday, police said.
