Swimmers Hit the Water for Good Causes

Third annual Tom Wear Memorial Swim helps animal rescue agencies.

Three separate races attracted over 100 swimmers for the third annual Tom Wear Memorial Swim.

A two-mile race held separately for men and women and a open one-mile race were the featured events in Saturday's race. The racers stepped into Lake Hopatcong at Prospect Point Boat Yard with the men's division of the two-mile swim heading out first, followed by the women's two mile and the open mile swim.

Proceeds from the races went to the K9 Heroes of 9/11, Southern Tier Police Canine Association and 11th Hour Rescue.
