Unofficial results are in for statewide, county and local races in the 2013 General Election. The statistics, showing how voters in Jefferson Township came down on the candidates and questions, not yet certified, come from the Morris County Clerk's Office.
Of the 13,715 registered voters in Jefferson Township, 5,595—40.79 percent—cast a ballot in Tuesday's polling. It appears the governor's race was enough of a draw to attract participants in a year that featured no municipal race. There was one local race, for the Jefferson Township Board of Education, but that offered little suspense as incumbents Matthew F. Millar, Edward Quigley and Danielle M. Rowan had no opposition in the race for the board's three open seats.
On the two state ballot questions, Jefferson voters gave a resounding yes to amending the state constitution to allow veterans' groups to use games of chance as a means of raising funds. The outcome was the same, though by a much smaller margin, as voters gave a narrow victory to amending the state constitution to set a statewide minimum wage rate at $8.25 and connecting the minimum wage to the annual cost of living.
The unofficial numbers follow:
