Santa is coming to town -Jefferson Township that is!

Santa Claus is coming to town…   Jefferson Township that is!

It will soon be that time of year again when children everywhere anxiously await the arrival of Santa Claus, and the Jefferson Township Recreation Department will help fulfill those dreams even before December 25th arrives!
So gather up the eager children and join Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Rudolph on Saturday, December 7 at the Community Lodge at Camp Jefferson located at 81 Weldon Road.  Santa will visit with the children from 9 AM to 3 PM (note that Santa & Mrs. Claus will take a lunch break from 12 noon to 1 PM) and hand out candy canes and good wishes.
In addition to visiting with Santa, there will be a special live animal show presented by Wallaby Tales entitled “Animal Friends”, holiday music, children’s’ coloring pages, opportunities to write letters to Santa at the North Pole, a Scholastic Book Fair, and a model train display for everyone to enjoy.  In addition, Santa will have small gifts for the children, and beverages and food items will be available for a nominal fee from the Jefferson Township Middle School Student Council and the Red Cross Club.  Everyone is invited to come and join in the excitement and encouraged to bring a camera and/or video camera to catch those memorable shots of a child on Santa’s lap.
Everyone is asked to make a donation to the Jefferson Township Pantries.  Suggestions include non-perishable food items, paper products, household cleaning products, and/or toiletries to restock the township’s three food pantries.
For further information on this event call the Recreation Department at 973-663-8404 or log on to www.jeffersontownship.net (Tab: Government, Departments, Recreation or Tab: Residents, Events).
The Jefferson Arts Committee will also be celebrating Christmas in the Village with live entertainment, events, and contests in the historic Milton Village on December 7 at the Jefferson Township Museum, Fire Company No. 1’s firehouse, St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church, Milton First Aid Squad, American Legion Post #423, and the Milton United Methodist Church. Information can be found at www.jeffersonarts.org or by calling 973-697-3828.
