Community Corner

Skylands Group of the Sierra Club is now forming and we need YOU!

The New Jersey Sierra Club is forming a local group, called the Skylands Group, in Sussex and northern Warren Counties. Come and join us for the kickoff meeting on Tuesday April 10, 2012, 7:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Sussex County, 1 West Nelson St., Newton.

On April 10th you will learn how the proposed Susquehanna Roseland power transmission line and Tennessee Gas Pipeline is threatening the NJ Highlands – Chapter Program Assistant Kate Millsaps will lead a discussion on these two proposed projects, which are threatening to destroy the environmentally pristine areas of the “Skylands”, or Northern NJ Highlands. Please come and learn about where these projects currently stand and what you can do to prevent these projects from going forward. This event is free to the public and free refreshments will be provided!
