Jefferson Standout Wrestler Commits to Hofstra

Bryan Damon, ranked the 16th top high school wrestler in the nation, has committed to Hofstra's Division-I program for fall 2014.

Hofstra University has announced that Jefferson Township High School senior Bryan Damon signed a letter of intent Nov. 20 to join the Hempstead, N.Y., Division One school's freshman class and wrestling team starting in fall 2014, AIM Jefferson reported.

Damon has competed in wrestling since third grade, according to the article, which notes that he placed fifth in the Super 32 tournament, where he had a 10-2 record, and is now 16th in the U.S. at the 120-pound level.

JTHS wrestling coach Matt Moscatello told AIM Jefferson that Damon "is the most talented and hard working wrestler" he ever coached.
