Gingerbread House Contest Tradition Continues at Milton UMC

The Jefferson Arts Committee makes it feel like Christmas again with its eighth annual Gingerbread House Contest, part of its upcoming Christmas in the Village event.  The contest and display will be held Saturday in the Milton United Methodist Church, 316 Dover-Milton Road in Milton/Oak Ridge.

Contestants in different age divisions must create their own homemade gingerbread house or construct one from a purchased kit with the theme Christmas Around the World.  They can choose any type of structure with landscaping not to exceed 12” wide x 12” high x 12” long, and all materials (except for a cardboard/wood/plastic base) must be edible.

Judging will be based on the use of different edible materials, creativity and originality; prize ribbons will be awarded in all divisions for first, second and third places.
