Santa Claus Is Coming to Camp Jefferson

Kris Kringle's Christmas in the Village visit is also a food drive to stock the shelves of Jefferson Twp.'s three food pantries.

Children everywhere are already anxious for the arrival of Santa Claus, and the Jefferson Township Recreation Department will help fulfill those dreams even before Dec. 25 arrives.

Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Rudolph will visit the Community Lodge at Camp Jefferson, 81 Weldon Road, Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1-3 p.m. to hand out candy canes, gifts for the good boys and girls and Christmas wishes. Parents are encouraged to bring along a camera or smartphone to capture a memorable snapshot or video.

The day also will feature a performance of Wallaby Tales' live animal show,  “Animal Friends,” holiday music, children’s’ coloring pages, opportunities to write letters to Santa at the North Pole, a Scholastic Book Fair and a model train display.  Beverages and food items will be available for a nominal fee from the Jefferson Township Middle School Student Council and the Red Cross Club.

Attendees are asked to bring along nonperishable food items, paper products, household cleaning products and/or toiletries to donate to the three Jefferson Township Pantries. For more info, call the Recreation Department at 973-663-8404.

This is but one of a myriad of events that are part of the Jefferson Arts Committee's Christmas in the Village, which takes place Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the historic Milton Village. To learn more, call Jefferson Arts at 973-697-3828.
