Give Back That Unneeded Halloween Candy!

Give back that excess Halloween Candy!

Wondering what to do with all that extra Halloween Candy? Give it back! Through Operation Gratitude, you can make the winter holidays a bit brighter for some deployed soldiers. This great nonprofit just sent off its 700,000th care package, brightening one more day.

"Giving Back" is big with me, and why shouldn't it be? Especially in a situation such as this, when there are pounds and pounds of excess Halloween candy just sitting around. Whether it's merchandise that was overbought or loot from trick-or-treaters that is not a favorite, here's the perfect thing to do with it, at no cost or inconvenience!

Collection boxes have been set up at the majority of the township schools (Milton, Cozy Lake, Briggs, JTMS and JTHS), as well as PostNet on Route 15 South. If you don't have a child in one of these schools you can go to them anyway, just press the button for entry and one of the great staff will be glad to be sure your candy makes it to the donation box. If you travel Route 15 South, by Dunkin Donuts, right across the street you'll see a new shop called PostNet. There, Dan the proprietor, will be glad to be sure your donation gets on its way. A few cub/boy scout troops have stepped up to help with this great cause as well.

The candy drive will continue through Nov. 7, giving everyone plenty of time to sort through what they have and satisfy their cravings and sweet teeth!

If you have a donation and can't make it to any of the drop-offs or have any questions, feel free to contact me at kuzmakrafts@gmail.com to see if we can make alternate arrangements.
