Charles Leshowitz, of Jefferson Dies at 77: Spent Long Career in Welding Supply Industry

Leshowitz, who lived nearly 50 years in Lake Hopatcong, is remembered as a gifted athlete and a hard worker.

Charles Leshowitz passed away Nov. 7 at his home in Jefferson Township. He was 77 years old.

Leshowitz was born in Jersey City and raised in Union City before moving to the Lake Hopatcong section of the township in 1965. He spent his career working on the New York City waterfront and in all facets of the business of County Welding Supply Company.

His family said he is remembered as an extremely hard worker and a gifted athlete.

Leshowitz is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie Bria Leshowitz; children Linda Leshowitz and Dr. Timothy Brazill of Charlottesville, Va. and Donna Leshowitz of Lake Hopatcong; brothers Sidney Lash of Lake Hopatcong and Phil Leshowitz of Washington State; cats Brandy and Toby; and many friends.

Funeral arrangements were managed by the Bermingham Funeral Home in Wharton. He was interred at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
