2-Day Car Mischief Spree Under Investigation, Cops Say

Some vehicles scratched, others get flat tires, police report.

Over the course of two days at the start of the month, four reports were made in Jefferson regarding vehicles being broken in to or damaged, Captain Eric Wilsusen said.

On March 5, patrol responded to Lakeview Motel on Route 181 for a report of a parked car falling victim to being scratched down the entire left side, Wilsusen said. That same day, a resident of Cozy Lake Road reported to police that a car in their driveway had its tire punctured, Wilsusen said.

The next day, police responded to a report of numerous vehicles being entered on South Lakeside Avenue, Wilsusen said. Police reported no items were missing in any of the vehicles.
