Break-ins, Burglaries and Thefts in Town

The following information was supplied by the Jefferson Township police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Here are the latest alleged break-ins, burglaries and thefts in town, according to the Jefferson Township Police Department:

  • On May 8, a resident of Longwood Lake Road reported that sometime between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., several expensive rings and necklaces were taken from the home. According to police, the resident said the door may have been left unlocked.
  • On May 10, a Ridgedale Avenue resident reported that his car alarm had sounded. He believed someone may have tried to enter his car.
  • On May 20, a resident of Timberline Drive reported that someone broke a rear window in his home.
  • On May 23, a resident of Sanbar Drive reported the alleged theft of $130 worth of tools from his unlocked shed.
  • On May 24, a resident of Sheehan Drive reported that the door to the master bedroom was forced in and jewelry was removed from a dresser in the bedroom.  A gold ring was also taken from another bedroom to the residence. There were no signs of forced entry to the exterior of the house.
  • On May 28, a resident of Sanbar Drive reported that someone slashed the front tires to his vehicle.
  • On May 28, a resident of East Shawnee reported that sometime between May 26 nd 28 someone damaged a basement window screen and entered the residence through the unlocked basement window. A Playstation 3 game and 30 games were missing.
  • On June 4, a resident of Yacht Club Drive reported her house was entered. Someone entered through an unlocked sliding glass door. Nothing appeared to have been missing from the residence. On June 10, she reported her house was broken into again. New pry marks were observed on a sliding glass doors. Nothing appears to be missing. It appears that someone went through a refrigerator.  
  • On June 6, a resident of Sachem Road reported pry marks on two doors and damage to two windows at the resident. Entry was made to garage but not to the main residence, police said. Nothing appeared to be missing. The home is currently under renovation.
  • On June 7, a resident of Ripplewood Drive reported that between June 3 and 7 someone gained entry to the residence by forcing open rear door and window. Two bottles of vodka were removed from the residence.
  • On June 8, a resident f McNabb Road reported that between June 7 and 8 someone entered his home and stole $1,900 cash. No forced entry was observed, police said.
  • On June 9, a resident of Castlerock Road reported a screen on one of the windows was torn and a small cup of change valued at $10.00 was missing from the residence. The incident took place sometime between June 4 and 9.
  • On June 10, a resident of Spring Road reported that she had arrived to the residence and observed the front door was closed but unlocked. Three windows had pry marks on the bottoms of their bottoms.  Entry was gained but no items appeared to have been removed from the residence, police said.
