Change Stolen in Sweep of Car Burglaries
Money taken from unlocked cars, according to police.
Jefferson Township police have reported a series of car burglaries in which change was taken from the vehicles. Most of the cars were unlocked at the time.
A Prospect Point Road resident reported $10 in change and an iPod Nano taken from his car on July 27. On the same road and day, a resident reported $5 in change taken from his car, in addition to a Sony Cybershot camera, according to Jefferson Township Police Capt. Eric Wilsusen.
A Terrence Avenue resident reported $65 in cash taken from their car on July 27, and a Patriot Road resident reported $5 in change stolen from an unlocked car on the same day.
Car break-ins were also reported on Brady Boulevard on July 27 in which a wallet was reportedly stolen; on Terrence Avenue on July 26 in which nothing of value was removed; and on Colonial Circle on July 27 in which assorted change and two pairs of sunglasses were removed, according to Wilsusen.
On Aug. 3, a Brady Boulevard resident reported that someone had gone into his two unlocked cars and stolen $5 cash. Also on Aug. 3, another Brady Boulevard resident reported their unlocked car was entered and $2 in change was taken.
