Cops: More Burglaries and Thefts in Jefferson

Another round of burglaries and thefts has hit the township, accordingto the Jefferson Township Police.

  • On April 29, a resident of Harbor Drive reported that someone  entered an unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the it. Nothing was reported missing.
  • On April 29, a resident of Marine Terrace reported that someone entered two unlocked vehicles. Police said that $30 in loose change was taken from the vehicles.
  • On April 29, a resident of Harbor Drive reported that someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed about $5 in change from the vehicle. 
  • On May 1, a resident of Mansfield Way reported someone entered the home, possibly through and unlocked back door, and removed a laptop and I-Pad.
  • On May 6, someone smashed the front door window of the Dunkin Donuts on Route 15 North at about 4 a.m. Police said that $150 in cash, lottery tickets and cigarettes were stolen. The Jefferson Township Detective Bureau and Morris County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit responded.
  • On May 6, a resident of Alps Road reported that approximately $300 worth of damage was done to her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway.
