Cops: Woman Leads Us to Heroin

The following arrest information was supplied by the Jefferson Township police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Jefferson Township police said they found what they suspected was heroin and paraphernalia in plain view during a welfare check at a Pennsylvania Ave. residence on March 2.

Officers discovered approximately 240 decks of suspected heroin, to which they were led by the person later charged for the drugs, police said.

Mindy Mittlestadt, 23, of Jefferson Township was at her own sentencing in court in Sussex County on March 2. According to police, she told the judge in that matter that she could not go to jail because she had an elderly grandmother at home she had to care for, police said. The judge ordered the welfare check at Mittlestadt’s home, where police found suspected drugs, police said.
