DailyRecord.com: Mt. Arlington Man Accused of Lying During Murder Investigation

Charged with giving police a false identity.

A Mount Arlington man is accused of giving police a false name as they investigated the death of Mt. Arlington resident Barbara Wilson, according to a report on DailyRecord.com.

Daniel Cole was charged and lodged in jail at 2 a.m. Wednesday, accused of hindering apprehension and obstruction of the administration of law, according to the report. He is not accused in Wilson's murder.

Police have said Wilson, 77, . Friends became concerned when Wilson, who was active at her church and in the overall community, failed to show up at a fundraiser she helped start. They called police, who found her lifeless body after forcing entry to her home.

Calls from Patch to Mt. Arlington police about Cole's arrest were referred to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, which declined comment. The Morris County Park Police, to which Cole reportedly is accused of giving the fake name, has not yet returned calls for comment.
