Dispose of Your Unused Meds Safely on Saturday

The Jefferson police wiil take them back for free.

If you have prescription or over-the-counter drugs around your house that you no longer need, you can safely get rid of them this Saturday at the Jefferson Township Police Department.

Jefferson Police are participating in the statewide drug disposal day. Officers will be available to collect unwanted drugs between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The types of drugs the department will collect include:

  • Expired or unwanted prescriptions or over-the-counter medications
  • Drugs that didn’t work for you, a family member or pet
  • Drugs that are no longer used or from deceased family members
  • Unknown tablets and capsules

Jefferson Officer Joe Hale said that the department would take anything except needles.
