Footprints Used to Track Teen Accused of Burglary

A pair of sneaker tracks led police to a Jefferson teen accused of an Oak Ridge burglary last month, Jefferson Police Capt. Eric Wilsusen said.

after fleeing from officers when they arrived at his Robin Drive home to arrest him for the Sept. 2 burglary, Wilsusen said.

Palazzolo was tracked down by a K-9 Unit who ran after him and bit his arm, Wilsusen said.

Palazzolo's $30,000 arrest warrant was for a burglary and theft incident he allegedly committed in early September when he smashed a home's window on Rudmar Road and stole an Xbox, jewelry and copper scraps, Wilsusen said.

Wilsusen said Det. Rich Geib was able to match Palazzolo's footprints found at the scene to the teen's sneakers.

Palazzolo was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility Monday on $30,000 bail for the burglary and theft charge.

Palazzolo was also charged with hindering apprehension, possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic needle, according to a report supplied by Wilsusen.

Palazzolo was also arrested in April for allegedly stealing scrap metal from a residential property and driving with a suspended license, according to a police report.
