Forfeiture Sought of River Styx Restaurant at Center of Drug Ring
Prosecutors file to obtain cash, vehicles and business assets from John Davieau, report says.
Just days after a Lake Hopatcong business owner was arrested for drug trafficking between Essex, Sussex and Morris Counties, the prosecutor’s office filed for forfeiture of his business, according to a news report.
The forfeiture complaint was filed Thursday in Superior Court, the Daily Record reported, and seeks to take any property rights from John A. Davieau, the owner of the River Styx Bar and Grill in Lake Hopatcong.

The business owner is a resident of Jefferson Township and is the president of another business in Wharton.
The notice seeks forfeiture of six vehicles, any property rights Davieau has to 470 River Styx Road – the location of the restaurant – and $23,172, the report stated.

Davieau is currently lodged in Morris County jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
